is Gaelic for “The Workshop Up On The Hill” and is the name of the studio run
by artists Ian Joyce and Oona Hyland,
in Gaoth Dobhair, Co. Donegal. In August 2002, Sarah and Ulrich arrived to help them finish setting up their printshop and to collaborate on a number of different projects.
“Watershed” is a public art project commissioned to Ian Joyce by the
Clinton International Peace Centre in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. The piece comprises 60 sheets of 75 cm x 250 cm white organza, printed with multiple layers of colour lithographs. When all of the panels are assembled together, they form an enormous impressionist view of the Donegal bog in autumn colours.
After taking almost a year to complete, the piece is due to be permanently installed in the Peace Centre’s front foyer windows. Overall size: 4.5m x 25m.

“The Falling Upward of Things” is the title of the collaboration between composer Ian Wilson and artist Ian Joyce, performed at the Belfast Festival of music,
art and theatre in November, 2002.
The piece, consisting of a video projection onto
a large (1.5 x 2 m) mobile sculptural/lithographic element, literally dances to music performed by
a quartet of trombone, trumpet, drums and piano.
Sculpture construction: Ian Joyce and Ulrich Kühle.
In 2003 artists Ros Harvey and Tim Stampton completed the construction of their printshop - the newest addition to Ballagh Studio in Malin, Co. Donegal. That summer Sarah and Ulrich went to help them set up and also printed editions of artists' books.
"The Fisherman’s Tale" and "The Salmon of Knowledge" are the titles of two of Tim Stampton's books of Irish tales,
all of which he has illustrated with beautifully detailed wood engravings. Both books were printed by Sarah and Ulrich at Ballagh Studio in 2003, in editions of 100.
Binding by Kenny’s in Galway.
Both books were handset in lead type and printed on
a Vandercook press. Each of the wood engraving illustrations were hand-cut by Tim and printed on the Vandercook by Ulrich and Sarah.
